GROW Training – Virtual Academy
Issue No. 18 | October 2021
Near Normal! Written by Deborah Fortune | Resilience and Recovery: HOLD FIRM
Welcome to the GROW Training Newsletter – As the typical October winter weather has started to make a return, with shorter day light and more rainy days we will begin to see more and more cars return to the road. Unfortunately, it’s a time when accidents happen with the dark wet days kids, in their excitement, tend to get careless while crossing streets. Therefore, it is important for parents to teach their children basic road rules and make them more aware. Motorists should also take extra precautions. There is also a higher risk of fire accidents as people start to light fires and also Halloween approaches again safety and Basic Fire Safety Awareness is important.
Our featured course this month is Basic Fire Safety Awareness for Care Homes but fire safety is not just for care homes. Did you know that your smoke detector makes different sounds chirp and a beep but what do they mean? Well there is a big difference and we want to emphasize the importance that we all need to know the difference. “Hear the chirp, change your battery. If you hear the beep — three beeps, an activation — that’s a true fire alarm”. A sample fire escape plan that all the family know can saves lives for example what to do and meeting point . Part of that plan should include a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector and a functional fire extinguisher and let hope we never have to use on plan. Check out our monthly course with our special price.
